KUALA LUMPUR: YB Ventures Bhd (YBV) will fully absorb the cost of Covid-19 vaccinations for its 600 employees, including its local and foreign operational workers in the manufacturing plant Kulai, Johor.<\/p>\n

The company facilitates the vaccinations through the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) and under the public-private partnership Covid-19 industry immunisation programme (PIKAS).<\/p>\n

Executive director Au Yee Boon said the company strongly support scientific and public health advice that encourages vaccination.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we continue to navigate the pandemic, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our employees and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough this initiative, we hope to protect our workforce, their families and also create a safe and uncompromised environment for our customers when they visit us,\u201d Au said in a statement today.<\/p>\n

He said YBV would bear the cost of the immunisation drive of its employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe this is part of our responsibility and basic effort of the company to participate in the larger cause of the vaccination drive in Malaysia,\u201d Au said, adding that this initiative also includes migrant workers, who are always underappreciated and overlooked in the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Migrant workers, he said, have long been an important part of Malaysia\u2019s economy, particularly in industries like YBV, which rely heavily on them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are doing our part to protect them from the effects of this pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the target to achieve herd immunity by the end of the year, YBV sets the stage for a more robust and quicker economic recovery,\u201d Au said.<\/p>\n

PIKAS is a public-private partnership immunisation programme aimed at employees, of which Miti has been tasked with coordinating immunisation of employees in the manufacturing industry.<\/p>\n

The immunisation programme will be done via on-site vaccinations at designated factories and industrial locations.<\/p>\n
